On 18 September 2026, Chiron moved back into Aries. It stays there until 14 April 2027, which makes this a long transit, and I think a significant one.
It's landing alongside Venus square Pluto. Venus is now retrograde, and Mars has joined the conversation with Venus and Pluto. That combination carries charge.
You can get pulled apart by it, or you can use it to move you in a direction, if you have intent. That's what I want to look at here.
Collective transit or personal return?
Chiron re-entering Aries is a collective transit. It's global.
A Chiron return is individual. If you were born with Chiron at 29 degrees Aries, this is your return, and you've already had the first pass of it.
So this probably carries extra weight for you. It's likely to reinforce what you've been experiencing for the last nine months.

Aries is emergence
The Aries archetype is the principle of emergence. Energy coming out of one state and into a new state, like a baby being born into the world.
In everyday life, that emergence shows up as taking up space. Here I am. Everything is in a constant state of becoming.
Wherever you see Mars in your chart, natal or by transit, you'll find a place where new experiences and new choices want to emerge and take up space.
Chiron in Aries and agency
So what does Chiron in Aries represent? The process of human beings experiencing agency.
Agency is the capacity to believe you can interact with something, and that you have a choice in how you do it. I have agency to sit in front of a camera and share a message, and that message comes into form in the real world.
The feedback loop
When we act in the world through agency, we create a feedback loop. Jeffrey Wolf Green used a classic example when he taught Aries.
You see a stove. You're curious, so you put your hand on it, and it's hot.
You decide that was painful, so you won't do it again.
That's Aries at its most primal. Act, get feedback from the environment, update your perception.
Where this meets Venus and Pluto
In my two Venus Pluto videos, I talked about how the Venus retrograde holds the potential to reconnect with your inner needs, desires and wants, and to follow what feels authentic and real.
The reconnection here is on a Venus level. It's being able to act on your needs, and to stop reinforcing a loop where they get denied, where your creativity and your passions get pushed down.
Chiron re-entering Aries asks you to pay attention to where that loop broke. Where are the parts of you still stuck in frozen action?
When the feedback shut you down
Growing up, you may have acted on an impulse, shared a creative idea, followed something you loved. And the feedback that came back brought you down, shut you down, closed you down.
Over time, the loss of belief in your truth gets louder than your capacity to act on your desire. Sometimes you replace your own agency with another person's ideas about the world.
Then the brain runs a recursive pattern and keeps pointing at the evidence. I tried to take action there, and look what happened, so why bother?
The question beneath this teaching is this one. Where did I learn that my arrival was a problem? My emergence, my agency, my choice, my desire, my anger, my ability to say no, or to say yes, I want that.
The arc of Chiron in Aries is the reconnection and the reconciliation with that lost agency.

The wound is not the identity
Something I wrote in my notes, and it's super important. The wound is not the identity.
Chiron points towards a natural capacity that became difficult to express after it was hurt. The sensitivity is real, but it's not your personal identity.
So move away from treating Chiron as a permanent wound. Use the sensitivity as a guide to the place in your psyche that wants reconciliation.
And what is reconciliation? It's believing you can come back into your own space and emerge into your life knowing you have a choice. You can act with agency and take charge of the thing you want to create.
Waiting for permission
In the video I put this question on the screen. Where do you know the next move, but continue waiting for permission?
Waiting for permission is letting somebody else tell you whether something is safe. It's you not trusting your own experience, or your ability to handle what comes.
So whatever belief you're telling yourself, do the opposite and prove it wrong. This won't be resolved in one day. That's why the transit runs for such a long time.
Chiron in Aries is showing you where to look. Venus and Pluto hold the energy long enough for you to dig out what feels disempowering.
Whatever it is for you, say to yourself, I'm going to prove this belief wrong, and I'm going to re-empower myself by taking action. Find the courage in you and begin.
Reflect
Questions to reflect on
- Where do you know the next move, but keep waiting for permission?
- Where did you learn that your arrival, your desire, your anger or your "no" was a problem?
- When you acted on something you loved and got shut down, what did you decide about yourself?
- Which sensitivity have you started calling "who I am"? Where might it be guiding you?
- Where does your mind say "why bother" before you've even tried?
- Between now and April 2027, which belief about what you can't do would you most like to prove wrong?
